The Tribe of Shadows Flames has been around as long as any living animal in the Forest of Dreams and the Misted Mountains can remember and beyond. Even the Sages and Guardians can't say when exactly it was established, only that it was centuries ago, when the tall pines were still young. It began in the lush and fertile valley, but before long the changing river sent it up the slopes of the Misted Mountains, deeper into the forest. There they remained in peace for the longest while.
The first real trauma to shake the tribe came with Deidara's betrayal. Once the closest friend of the Leader MoonShadow, he betrayed the Tribe by forming the rival clan of the Akatsukis. This created a bitter rivalry between Clan and Tribe, and over the years in-fighting sent other Tribe Members to the Akatsuki Clan. An attack on the Tribe by the Akatsuki led to the deaths of many members of each, including Deidara, and this deepened and strengthened the hatred between the two.
The fighting between Tribe and Akatsuki continued even through the 'Golden Years' of the Tribe's prosperity, during the reigns of the next two Leaders, MoonBlizzard and MoonFire. During this time the Tribe grew in size exponentially, and the land favored the cats with plenty to eat and little flooding and drought.
But by the time the next Leader, MoonCrescent, came to power, fighting with the Akatsuki was the least of the Tribe's problems. A new threat loomed from Two-Leg Place: BloodClan. Ruled with iron claws by ShadeLight, they made even the Akatsuki look tame, for BloodClan had no respect and no loyalty. They decimated not only the Tribe, but the Akatsuki, ForestPack, and all other animals in the forest, leaving entire areas unfit for habitation in their wake. In order to survive, Tribe and Akatsuki were forced to band together, and in doing so much of the old wounds were healed. Though BloodClan arrived during MoonFire's reign, and she had begun the healing between Tribe and Akatsuki, most of the carnage occurred while MoonCrescent and the next Leader, MoonClaw, reigned, and it was only during their reigns that peace was finally made between Akatsuki and Tribe.
Though BloodClan was defeated and driven back, they are not obliterated, and still loom as a possible threat over the Forest of Dreams and the Misted Mountains. And, even with BloodClan defeated, Two-Leg development and natural disasters forced the ailing Tribe to leave their once prosperous and proud home.
MoonStone took power just before the pitiful remnants of the Tribe were forced to flee up the mountain. The dens here are less safe, and prey is much less plentiful, but the Tribe are survivors, and they will recover from this trauma and once more reign supreme over the forest.
